A project inspired by the songs Jessie grew up singing alongside her family and neighbors. Recorded locally, the project features those very musicians and songs that influenced Jessie's storytelling nature and love for folk music. This album is for the characters we’ve played for on flatbed trailers at county fairs, in Legion Clubs and churches, at backyard barbecues, barn dances and potluck picnics in small towns across the mid-west. When we pick up our guitars, these are the first songs we reach for because they are familiar, safe and forgiving, just like old friends.
